Ph.D. defended!

On March 11th (the 365th day of COVID-19 realities here in Montreal as well as the rest of the world), I successfully defended my Ph.D. dissertation "Built to Perform: Designing Digital Musical Instruments for Professional Use".

Built to Perform (Ph.D. defence)

A 20 minute presentation of my dissertation research given at my oral defence.

The Noiseboxes

The Noiseboxes are a group of standalone embedded musical instruments that are the product of ongoing research on user-centered digital musical instrument design.

Designing Purpose-Built Digital Musical Instruments

I discuss my ongoing research in digital musical instrument design through the presentation of two design projects focusing on the specific demands of two different use cases: First, a software-based adaptive musical instrument for accessible music making, and second, bespoke musical interfaces for a professional contemporary harpist.
